Hi! A question for any of you that have used enemas - My son has been on hydrocort enemas since the end of January. He was to do 2 a day for two weeks (although I don't think he did the morning one every day as it was hard with getting ready for school), then once a day at night for two weeks, and then every other day for two weeks. Here's the question - can he use these indefinitely? They are really working for him as he only goes 1-2 times a day and it is solid for the first time in years (?!). He is getting anxious about quitting them as he does not want to flare again. I will be putting a call into Mayo about this but just wanted to know others experience with this. He does have two refills left and he does have two weeks left of the regimin also. So what do you all think?? Thanks Virgie

Virgie,If they are working (Alleluia!), then it really can't hurt to keep using them as maintenance I would think, possibly every other day or every couple days. Not sure if they really could be overused. Box or med printout might give an indication of this.
Nicole really hated using them so she barely even made it through the 3 week courses she was prescribed. I believe we always had refills left on them if needed for continued use.
Eeekkk! Morning doses could be a toughie and don't blame your Son for forgoing those.
Glad they are working well for your Son!!
