Re: Remicade Side Effects
Not had those side effects. Did they occur at infusion time or days afterwards? The stomach pain could be just part of the crohns if that's where she was having pain to begin with. Remicade doesn't kick in right away. The racing heart, if it didn't occur at infusion time, could just be anxiety. Let the GI know if these symptoms continue.

Re: Re: Remicade Side Effects
Christine,She did not have the pain before. She had her 2nd infusion on Tuesday and her pain started Wednesday afternoon. As far as the racing heart beat that was at about 4:30 this a.m. and hasn't happened since. She was fine thru the infusion. She had her first infusion two weeks ago and didn't have any pain/racing heartbeat.

Re: Re: Re: Remicade Side Effects
Is she prone to worrying? I just say that because I took our daughter to the ER one time during volleyball practice for trouble breathing (been on Remicade and have sun-induced rashes so we thought she was having delayed allergic reaction with the drug), and it turned out to be anxiety related.
Call the GI if you feel it's not anxiety. Christine

Re: Re: Re: Re: Remicade Side Effects
Christine,I do have a call in to the doctor. I was supposed to call them today anyway with an update to see if they could taper on the pre. yet. She has not had the fast heartbeat anymore since 4:30 a.m. but the stomach ache is really bothering her. I read that it is a common side effect of remicade but I dont think that it should be bad enough to keep her home from school and it is. I do not know if it is a side effect that will go away a few days after infusion or if is gong to persist. If it is, then we are going to have to go another route. Robin
