Re: Update on Joan
oh crap!! I just typed a whole paragraph of questions and lost it all!@%# I usually copy my post before I hit the button and didn't do it this time! Ugh, anyhow, Chaya if you could provide anymore info that would be so appreciated. I must have missed something somewhere because I don't recall anything about them scheduling surgery and what were they doing surgery on? Her neck, the adrenal gland, what? Also, where is she now....home? hospital near home? hospital in cities? Thanks Chaya,

Re: Re: Update on Joan
The surgery was scheduled for removal of the tumor. At the time of measurement it was 4.3 centimeters and rapidly growing. That was a month ago!!!! It has continued to grow and cause changes that arent so desireable to put it mildly. As Joan would say , " breathing is rather essential" . lol too cute ey? At this time the adrenal tumors being involved the surgeon has said she has a more than likely chance of dying on the table should they operate. The next decision to be made is whether or not to surgically remove the adrenal tumors and look for connections in Pheochromocytoma and Medullary cancer. At this point in time the test are pointing the Dr.s in this direction. This is supposedly a very rare occurance. Joan is at home but tires easily and breathing has become a strain on her body. Her trachea has deviated significantly. It is a stressful time and some anxiousness has set in as the tumor has been allowed to progress and there is as of today no set date for removal. Everything is dependant at this point on the adrenal findings.
