My son recently switched from remicaid to humira. It has not been as effective yet, but we are hoping with time things will improve. It has only been about 6 weeks. Our insurance comvers most and we received Co-Pay plus card from my humira that covered the copay completely. This apparently only last for a certain time period, but it is nice to have.

humira has been a good med for us, just f.y.i.. 
my son takes 40 mg every other friday. we administer it at home. we did the first 3 at clinic to learn how to do it properly and to make sure he wouldn't have any kind of allergic reations.
we paid $15 co-pay for hospital visits for remicade. we pay $30 per shot for humira. so it's $60 per month. if we were to pay full price, the shots run around $600 in our area. (thank goodness we don't have to pay that!)

Joel gets 40 mg. every other week. We pay $20 a month for Humira, but didn't pay anything for Remicade since it was done in the hospital. If you check the Humira website, they'll send you a kit with all kinds of info. It included a DVD with instructions for giving the injections. After watching it, I felt comfortable enough to do it myself and didn't need the nurse to show me. I hope it's the answer for you.Kim

My son gets Humira once a week but it is usually given once every two weeks. For us it has been cheaper than Remicade. For Remicade we had a copay and facility charge which amounted to $789 a month (he recieved it every 4 weeks). Now Humira is $40 a month copay. Humira has also been more effective for our son. As far as administration, a triage nurse taught us how to give it and we do it at home. We have had no problems going this route (I better knock on wood!). Good Luck, Joan (Tim, 14, CD...)

My daughter gets her injection every other week. For us we paid less for Remicade since it was covered under our insurance fully. We now pay a copay of $60 per month. When I priced the Humira at the specialty pharmacies it was 1,800 for 2 doses. That is one month supply for most. We do the injections at home, a home health nurse came to the house to teach us how.
