Re: Day 3 home with pain...
Hey Jean,
Will be waiting to hear about lab results. Hope they prove useful to help Gregory on the road to feeling better.
From one mom of a picky eater to another...it stinks! When they need the protein & iron the most, there is only a limited diet that Casey will try. Did find this flavored water made by Kellogs called Special K Protein Water,( I think that's the exact name), that has 5 grams of protein, and best of all, Casey likes it!!....for now.
Hang in there,
Linda

I've seen it before, but never even thought about getting it for G. I'll have to buy some and see if he likes it. Jean

Re: Day 3 home with pain...
Our son lived with TI stricture pain (after eating) for 10 months prior to his surgery. Peptamen really kept him going during the time when he could only tolerate one meal per day. Have you tried a liquid supplement for Gregory? It might provide him with some relief until you figure things out.Just a thought. Hang in there. LindaC

Re: Re: Day 3 home with pain...
Thanks for the encouragement I have been blessed with a very picky eater, Linda. He doesn't even like Carnation Instant Breakfast -- says it tastes funny! We've tried Boost, Ensure, and generic store brands. He hates them all.Meanwhile he's living on smoothies, juice, jello, tomato soup, ice cream, gatorade, pudding and anything else in a semi-liquid state. It gets old real fast. I'll know more tomorrow morning when the labs are ready. Jean

I am soooo glad to hear that someone else has a picky eater! My kid went through all the liquid diet stuff too. He tried so hard to do the liquid diet. But, he even dislikes Carnation Instant Breakfast, too. It was just to difficult for him.Good luck with the labs!

Re: Day 3 home with pain...
Jean, I will be thinking and praying that the labs will give you a clue as to what is going on so that his pain will go away.By the way I read his care page and I just had to say that I love it when school asks dumb questions like "Will he be in school tomorrow?" Like you have a crystal ball and know that. Geez!! And yes we just love having our kids to stay home from school because they are in pain. It just makes our day! ARGH!! Can you tell that I am ready for summer vacation !!! I hope you can find something out. Take care. Virgie
son 18 UC,EE, IBS (bothering him at the moment due to stress), Asthma

Thanks, Virgie! I'm with you on summer vacation -- can't come soon enough And yes, sometimes people are clueless about this. I guess it's up to us to educate the ones we have to deal with on a daily basis, as annoying as that may be.Jean
